Manual Driving Test Package
A warm up lesson before your test, and then use the same dual-control Hyundai i30 for the actual driving test. We will pick you up from your place and also drop off after the test.
Priced by test centre: Warrawong, Corrimal, Kiama, Nowra, Mittagong or Engadine.
Use the instructor's manual car for your NSW driving test
The Manual Driving Test Package covers everything on test day: pick-up from your home, school or workplace, a lesson before the test to warm up and go over the roads near the test centre, the car for your test, and the drive home afterwards. You test in the same dual-control Hyundai i30 manual you have been learning in.
Manual test packages are available on Wednesdays only, as Wednesday is allocated for manual car! Book a Wednesday test date with Service NSW. (or contact us in case you have already booked your manual test on any other day - though, we can not promise, we can always try to accomodate your needds!)
What happens on the day
We pick you up at the agreed time, allowing enough time for the lesson and the drive to the test centre.
You drive a warm-up lesson, working on hill starts, gear changes and the roads the testing officers use around that centre.
You arrive at the Service NSW centre in time to check in with your learner licence and logbook.
You sit the test in the i30 with the testing officer.
After the test, we drive you home or drops you back where he picked you up.
Package length by test centre
The lesson and the test are the same at every centre. The difference in price and time is travel from the Illawarra to the centre and back.
Warrawong and Corrimal are the local centres for most Illawarra learners. Kiama, Nowra, Mittagong and Engadine are options if you cannot get a Wednesday date locally or prefer to test elsewhere.
Passing in a manual
If you pass in the i30, your P1 licence has no automatic-only condition. You can drive manual or automatic cars from the day you get your Ps.
Before you book
Check your test date and time with us before you book the test with Service NSW, so the car and instructor are free. Manual tests must be on a Wednesday. You book and pay for the test itself with Service NSW.
Under-25s need 120 logbook hours, including 20 at night, and 12 months on a learner licence. Learners 25 and over are exempt from both.
You must have passed the Hazard Perception Test.
Bring your learner licence and your completed logbook or the Learner Driver app.
Use of the car on test day is subject to our assessment that you are ready. If you are not, he will tell you before the day and help you plan more lessons rather than send you into a test you are likely to fail.
24 hours' notice is needed to cancel or reschedule the package. Late cancellations are charged in full. Service NSW has its own cancellation rules for the test fee.
