Automatic driving lessons in the Illawarra

Lessons are one-on-one in a dual-control automatic Toyota Corolla with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating. Lessons are available from Stanwell Park in the north to Shell Cove and Calderwood in the south. We offer free pick-up and drop-off from your home, school or workplace in any suburb we service.

Who these lessons are for

• Learners starting from their first drive.

• Learners with some hours who want to fix specific skills such as parking, roundabouts, merging or lane changes.

• Learners preparing for the driving test at Warrawong or Corrimal.

• Drivers over 25 who need to pass the test without logging 120 hours.

• Overseas licence holders converting to a NSW licence.

• Licensed drivers who have not driven for a while and want a refresher.

How a lesson runs

Lesson time starts at pick-up and ends at drop-off, and includes a short briefing at the start and a debrief at the end. In the first lesson your instructor checks where you are at and works out what to cover next. After that, each lesson picks up from the last one. Beginners start on quiet streets and move on to busier roads, hills and highway driving as they are ready.

Every one hour with an accredited driving instructor counts as 3 hours in your NSW logbook for your first 10 hours of professional lessons, which adds up to 30 logbook hours.

Before you book

• You must hold a current NSW learner licence, or a valid Australian or overseas licence, and show it before the lesson starts.

• Wear flat, enclosed shoes.

• If your licence has conditions, such as glasses or contacts, you must meet them.

• 24 hours' notice is needed to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations are charged in full.

• 1.5 and 2 hour lessons cannot be shortened once the booking is confirmed.
